This fall, MoSt purchased and donated sets of brand-new kids’ poetry books to five more elementary schools: Chatom, Hughson, Cunningham, Salida, and Westport. All the books were delivered in person by MoSt board members. Our donation to Westport Elementary in Ceres was given in memory of Jan Hightman, a dear friend to many in the Stanislaus County poetry community. MoSt board member Linda Scheller delivered the books to Principal Jennifer Cervantes (see photo), who was delighted to receive them.
